SKYHAWK GOLF QUALIFIED FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Following three rounds of play at the Prairie View Golf Club in Byron, Illinois, the Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks golf team punched their tickets for the National Championships to be held in May 2020 in Joplin, Missouri with a second place finish at the NJCAA Region IV Regional Championships.

The squad was led by Sophomore Colton Guy and Freshman Jacob Rude, who each carded 237 strokes over the 54 holes of play in the three day format. Sophomore Cael Sanders tallied 250 swings, while Sophomore Lucas Wedekind added 257 and Sophomore Jaden Taylor ended with 261. The combined score of 976 for the Skyhawks earned them a runner up finish and the opportunity to play in the National Tournament. The Regional Championship was won by Blackhawk College with a score of 959.
